ACI Marina Split, with two yacht clubs, protected by a strong rock breakwater from south winds and rough seas, offers a magnificent view of Split and its historical center-the Diocletian’s Palace. It is in the ACI Marina Split that Split-Lungomare begins; the longest and, of course, one of the most beautiful embankments in the Adriatic.
ACI Marina Split was awarded the “Tourist Flower – Quality of Croatia” award for third place in 2017 in the category of the best medium-sized marina for yachts on the Adriatic, and in 2017 received the award for second place. ACI Marina Split is also the winner of the prestigious Blue Flag Award.
Approach
The city port of Split is saturated with the movement of large ferries and requires special caution when approaching. Vessels leaving the port have a priority right to maneuver, which it is desirable not to violate. It is also forbidden to anchor in any part of the port, except in emergency situations. The entrance to the port is through a wide passage marked with lights and daytime markings.
When approaching ACI Marina Split, the following landmarks serve as landmarks: the bell tower of St. Domnius Cathedral; Cape Sustipan and a stone monument to sailors in the form of a lighthouse, which is actually an illuminated stone obelisk (Fl(2) W 20s 54m 10M). On the left side of the rocky cape Sustipan there is a red tower with a red light (Fl R 6s 9 m 5 m), while on the starboard side from the entrance to the port, at the top of the main breakwater, there is a prominent green lighthouse (Fl G 6s 11 m 10 m), equipped with a fog signal and a 30-second horn.
When approaching the ACI Marina Split on the wooded Sustipan Peninsula, you can see white rocks, as well as an internal breakwater at the eastern entrance to the pier, marked by a red tower with a column, gallery and light (Fl R 2s 6m 3M). The reception building, restaurants and workshops are also visible. As you approach the marina and the small ports to the west of it, stay closer to the beginning of the inner breakwater.
Since the area of the newly built western embankment has not been surveyed hydrographically, mooring there is prohibited, except in cases of approach to the fuel station.

ABOUT SPLIT
In 293 AD Roman Emperor Diocletian ordered the construction of a magnificent palace in which he would spend his final years on the ruins of the Greek city of Aspalathos and near Salona, an ancient urban center. The city of Split as we know it today expanded from Diocletian’s Palace, the world’s best-preserved palace from late antiquity. Split is now the capital of Dalmatia, captivating visitors with its Mediterranean charm and majestic architecture. Despite its 1,700 years of history, Split is a city of young spirit and the town of youth. It is the second largest city in Croatia, but they say it is the most athletic and the most songful city of the country. The ACI marina is located in the most beautiful part of the city’s port, north of the Sustipan peninsula.
