Full Description & Details
Mitan Marina is located on the coast of the Vinodol channel in Novi Vinodolski, Croatia, positioned as a gateway to the Adriatic islands including Krk, Cres, Rab, Pag, Olib, Silba, Ilovik and Losinj. The marina occupies Muroskva Bay, a reasonably well-indented and sheltered location protected by a 240-metre concrete breakwater. The facility is modern and well-equipped, with the main marina buildings topped by the principal car park and a bistro nestled into the rocks at one end.
The marina provides 180 wet berths for vessels up to 15 metres in length, with depths ranging from 3 to 14 metres. Larger yachts up to 30 metres can moor on the inner side of the breakwater, while mega yachts up to 80 metres can berth on the outer breakwater. All permanent berths have lazy lines and connections for electricity and water. The 50-metre distance between docks and from the quay allows for easy manoeuvring. A 20-ton crane has been available since May 2018.
Facilities include a reception, nautical shop, marina office, toilet and shower blocks, and workshops. The marina offers a fuel station by the breakwater, a restaurant and cafe, and boat charter services with ZAR speedboats. Adjacent to the dry marina three kilometres away is a service centre providing full repair and maintenance services, with staff certified for all major boat engine brands. The dry marina features a large hangar under 24-hour surveillance with fire protection and security systems, plus an open plateau. Additional amenities include WiFi internet access, laundry facilities, waste disposal, video surveillance, and parking.
The bora does blow strongly in this region, though the bay's indented shape and breakwater provide reasonable shelter. Marina staff and marineros are available 24/7 to assist with mooring manoeuvres and other services.
How to get there
Mitan Marina is located right by the coast road in Novi Vinodolski, approximately 30 kilometres from Rijeka Airport on Krk island. By road, the marina is accessible from the north via the Rijeka motorway exit followed by a drive south along the coast road, or from the south via the Senj exit, though it is quite a long way from the nearest motorway exit. The coast road through Paklenica to Novi Vinodolski can be windy and is slower than the motorway but more scenic.
The marina is easily visible from the coast road with no long descent required. The marina's car park is on top of the main buildings, with a few disabled parking spaces available lower down by the buildings. Vehicles can drive down to the berths to drop off equipment.
The marina is positioned to provide easy access to the inhabited islands of Krk, Cres, Losinj, Rab, Pag, Olib, Silba and Ilovik, with the broader Adriatic archipelagos further south. Novi Vinodolski town is approximately three kilometres from the marina.
