Luka Koromacna is a large bay on the eastern side of Cres Island, open to the south and exposed to weather from that quarter. The bay offers anchorage in depths ranging from 2 to 5 metres over a seabed that is partly sandy and partly rocky; the anchor holds well in the sandy patches. The anchorage sees relatively light traffic, and its size means skippers can usually find a quiet spot even in season.
Protection is limited to northerly and westerly winds. Southerly winds bring high waves into the bay, making it unsuitable for overnight stops in those conditions. Strong bora can also generate waves, though the extreme northern part of the bay and small coves on the eastern side offer some shelter from that wind.
