Full Description & Details
ACI Marina Rab occupies a protected position within the town harbour of Rab, the largest settlement on Rab Island in the Kvarner Bay. The marina is protected by a breakwater topped with a green lighthouse (Fl G 1.5s 7m 4M) and lies in a bay extending southeast-northwest. The facility operates seasonally from April 1st to October 31st and accommodates vessels up to 20 metres in length with a maximum draft of 6 metres across 132 berths, all equipped with water and electricity connections.
The marina provides a full range of services including a restaurant, maintenance and repair shop, crane, slipway, and a nautical equipment store. Sanitary facilities with showers are available, along with free Wi-Fi and an ATM. A small supermarket operates within the marina, and a fuel station is located nearby, separated from the main harbour. Laundry services are also available. The western ends of the marina's piers are lit for night operations.
During strong jugo (south) winds, the marina is not recommended for berthing. A strict speed limit of 3 knots applies to all vessels in the entrance channel. Water levels may fall by up to 1 metre during Bora conditions, which can affect vessels with deeper draft. The marina monitors VHF channel 17. The historic town of Rab, recognisable by its medieval walls and four distinctive bell towers, lies within walking distance and offers additional shopping, dining and cultural attractions.
How to get there
From seaward, Rab town is identified by its town walls and four bell towers. Vessels may approach between Cape Frkanj, marked by a red lighthouse (Fl R 2s 5m 4M), and Frkanj Shoal at 44°44.9' N 14°45.5' E, marked by a green lighthouse on a concrete base (Fl G 2s 6m 4M). The shoal may also be rounded from the southeast.
The harbour entrance is defined by a red lighthouse on Cape Sv. Ante (Fl R 1.5s 7m 3M) and a green lighthouse on Tunera Islet (Fl G 2s 14m 4M). Due to shallows near Tunera, keep closer to the red lighthouse.
Contact the marina on VHF channel 17. Official navigational charts recommended include HHI editions 101, 300-31, INT3410, 100-18, MK-7 and Plan 20. ACI Marina Rab is located immediately behind the town harbour breakwater.
The nearest airports are Rijeka, Zagreb and Zadar, with road access via the A6, E65 and E71 routes. Metered parking is available on the embankment near the marina. A taxi boat service operates between the marina and the old town during high season.
The Harbour Master's office (Lucka kapetanija Rijeka, ispostava Rab) can be reached at +385 51 725 419.
