Full Description & Details
ACI marina Pomer lies in the deepest part of Medulin Bay, on the Istrian coast of Croatia near the village of Pomer. The marina was completely rebuilt in 2016, with old structures removed and a new landside facility constructed. It is a modern, Mediterranean-style marina surrounded by beaches, islands and open nature, and it serves as a practical starting point for cruises heading south along the Adriatic.
The marina offers 294 wet berths and 30 dry berths, with a maximum vessel length of 35 meters for daily berths and 18 meters for annual berths. Maximum draft is 4 meters. The basin is sheltered, sitting in the deepest part of the bay, and berths are equipped with water, electricity (16 to 63 A connections) and Wi-Fi. Mooring is stern to dock with mooring lines. Holding is not a concern for berth holders, though anchoring is possible in Medulin Bay about 0.5 nautical miles southeast of the marina.
Facilities include fuel, showers, toilets, laundry, a restaurant with a terrace, a swimming pool with a pool bar, a grocery store about a five-minute walk away (seasonal), a technical repair service, a crane for boats up to 10 tons, and a pumping station for waste water. There is also a children's playground, a storeroom for equipment like bicycles and outboard motors, and selective waste collection points. The marina is open all year round.
Approach is recommended through the main channel due to reefs and shoals, and the marina is recognizable in daylight by its white crane. The nearest airports are Pula, Trieste, Krk, Venice and Ljubljana, and the marina is reachable by car via the E751 road. Nearby attractions include Medulin Bay beaches, Cape Kamenjak nature park and the Pula Arena.
How to get there
Approach ACI marina Pomer from the northwest part of Medulin Bay, which opens between Cape Kamenjak and Cape Marlera. Due to numerous reefs and shoals, enter through the main channel east of the islet of Fenera (44°46.2' N 13°57.2' E), then pass between the islands of Ceja and Bodulas, staying closer to Ceja because the water is shallower around Bodulas. At night, the course between the islands is marked by the lighthouse on Cape Munat (Fl W R 2s 9m 7/4M).
Once inside the bay, steer toward the middle of the passage between Cape Munat and Cape Kasteja, then toward the island of Pomorski Skoljic, rounding it from the east. The marina is then visible, recognizable by its white crane. Contact the marina on VHF channel 17.
Land access is via the E751 road, with the marina address at Pomer 26 A, 52100 Pula. The nearest airports are Pula, Trieste, Krk, Venice and Ljubljana. The local harbor master's office is in Pula, contactable on VHF channels 10 and 16.
