Full Description & Details
ACI Marina Pula occupies a historic location in the centre of Pula, Croatia's largest Istrian city, within a natural harbour that has served maritime traffic since antiquity. The marina lies metres from the famous Roman Arena and operates year-round with 194 wet berths accommodating vessels up to 40 metres in length and 12 metres draft. All berths are equipped with water and electricity connections.
The marina sits in a well-protected natural bay formed by a peninsula and breakwater, providing excellent shelter for visiting yachts. Pula International Airport is 5 kilometres from the city centre, with Trieste and Ljubljana airports approximately 130 kilometres distant. The facility is the only Mediterranean marina offering direct views of a Roman amphitheatre from its pontoons.
On-site amenities include sanitary facilities with disabled access, a restaurant, free wifi, a chandlery, car rental services, and an ATM. A fuel station serves the marina. Nearby services include customs, the harbour master's office, and secure parking. The marina has been awarded the Blue Flag for environmental standards and holds a sustainability award from Croatia's Ministry of Tourism and Sport.
Vessels must observe an 8-knot speed limit within the harbour basin. The marina monitors VHF channel 17. Several large iron buoys are irregularly anchored along the approach route and require careful navigation. The harbour master's office operates on VHF channels 10 and 16.
How to get there
The safe entrance to Pula harbour lies between the breakwater head extending from Cape Kumpar, marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 3s 9m 6M) at position 44°53.2' N 13°47.7' E, and Cape Prostina with its red lighthouse (Fl R 3s 9m 5M). After clearing the entrance, steer toward the southern cape of Andrija Islet, identified by a green lighthouse (Fl G 2s 7m 1M). The islet may be rounded from either side; for night approaches the passage between Andrija and Katarina Island is marked by two pairs of red and green lighthouses.
Beyond this passage a green lighthouse on Uljanik Island (Fl G 5s 7m 3M) guides vessels to the marina, which becomes visible after rounding that mark. Mariners should note several large iron buoys irregularly anchored along the approach course. Contact the marina on VHF channel 17 when approaching.
The harbour master's office monitors VHF channels 10 and 16. Official navigational charts published by HHI Split are recommended for safe pilotage: charts 101, 300-31, INT3410, 100-15, 100-16, MK-2, MK-3 and Plan 11. The marina is accessible by road via route E 751, and Pula city centre with its full range of services lies within walking distance.
