Full Description & Details
Marina-Brioni is a small marina on the northeastern side of Veli Brijun, the largest island in the Brijuni archipelago, part of the Brijuni National Park in Istria County, Croatia. The marina is the main landing point for the island, surrounded by lawns, trees, and historic buildings. The archipelago consists of two larger islands and twelve tiny islets, separated from the mainland by the narrow Fazana Strait.
The marina is protected from all winds except those from the northeast. Depths range from 1 to 4 meters, with some sources noting 2 to 6 meters in the approach. There are 55 berths for vessels up to 55 meters in length, all equipped with water and electricity connections.
The overnight fee includes the national park entrance ticket. Holding is on laid moorings.
How to get there
Approach the marina from the sea, heading for the northeastern side of Veli Brijun. The marina is located at approximately 44°55'N, 13°46'E. The nearest navigational aid is the Brijun 107 lighthouse, 0.07 nautical miles away.
Fazana lighthouses 108 and 109 are 1.48 nautical miles to the southeast. Depths in the approach range from 2 to 6 meters. The marina is protected from all winds except from the northeast, so be prepared for exposed conditions if the wind is from that direction.
There is no fuel dock at the marina; the nearest fuel pump is 5 nautical miles away in Pula. For anchoring, an alternative is the Mali Brijun anchorage at St. Nicolas bay (uvala Sv. Nikole), 1.63 nautical miles away, where the price is the same as for the marina mooring.
