Full Description & Details
Marina Medulin sits on the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula in a well-sheltered bay near the town of Medulin. The marina was completely renovated and reopened in April 2019 under new ownership by Adriatic Yacht Charter. The facility comprises three T-shaped piers surrounded by turquoise waters and pine trees, creating a compact and protected environment for visiting yachts.
The marina provides 85 wet berths with depths ranging from 1.5 to 2.8 metres, accommodating vessels up to a maximum length of 19.99 metres. Each berth includes water and 220V electricity connections, toilet facilities, free Wi-Fi throughout the marina, and one parking space per vessel. The entire facility operates under 24-hour security with constant video surveillance. A crane is available for yachts up to 14 metres, and the marina offers boat carrier services for vessels requiring haulout. Fuel is available at the gas station, though payment is cash only and dispensed from drums rather than metered pumps.
The marina reception provides comprehensive services including berth reservations, work order processing, ATM access, telephone, fax and photocopying services, and rent-a-car arrangements. Daily meteorological forecasts are available during the season in Croatian, English, German and Italian. Modern sanitary facilities with showers are provided. The town of Medulin, just a few minutes' walk away, offers two large supermarkets, bakeries, butcher shops, a small market with fresh produce, and over 40 restaurants and cafes along the promenade.
The marina operates year-round with seasonal reception hours. Summer hours (1 April to 31 October) are Monday to Sunday 08:00-20:00, while winter hours (1 November to 30 March) are Monday to Friday 08:00-14:00, Saturday 08:00-12:00, with Sundays and public holidays closed. Vessels must depart by 14:00 on the contracted departure day to avoid additional charges.
How to get there
The approach to Marina Medulin requires careful navigation due to shoals in the bay. The safest route is to sail past the island of Fenera to the east, then proceed between the islands of Ceja and Bodulas. The channel into the interior of the bay becomes impassable during strong jugo (Scirocco) conditions. The marina monitors VHF channel 17, while the Harbor Master operates on channel 16.
Medulin is accessible by road from Pula, which has the nearest airport and is the regional centre for southern Istria. The marina is located at coordinates 44°48'53"N, 13°55'42"E. Vessels should contact the marina on VHF 17 when approaching for berth assignment. The National Offshore Search and Rescue Center can be reached on telephone 195 (or +385 1 195 from outside Croatia).
