ACI Marina Piskera is located between the islands of Piskera and Panitula Vela, off the northern coast of Panitula Vela, where the ACI flag flies at the highest point of the island. The pier is well protected from the north wind of the bura, but a little less from the south winds. It is open from April 1 to October 31.
Once a year, on the last Sunday of July, residents of Sally and other nearby villages flock to this uninhabited island on their boats to attend Mass at the Church of the Nativity of Mary. The restaurant “Cliff” is part of the marina complex.
Approach
Piskera Island or Kernels is part of the Kornati National Park. The National Park is usually entered from the north through the Straits of Proversa Mala and Proversa Vela, or from the south, sailing between Cape Opat and the island of Smokvica. When approaching from Odessa, the course to the ACI Marina Piskera passes through a number of channels between numerous islands. The most interesting feature of the Kornati Islands are the famous sea cliffs that stretch along the western sides of several islands, the most beautiful of which are the islands of Mana and Rasip. A little further to the south is the island of Piskera. Not far from the western coast of Piskera is the island of Panitula Vela, where the ACI Marina Piskera is located. In front of the entrance to the pier are the island of Panitula Mala and the reefs of Skandji. The approach from the north or west between the Shkandzhi reefs and the southern cape of Panitula Vela Island is safe, the sea depth is 7 m. The approach to the pier from the northwest between the islands of Panitula Vela and Piskera is shallow and dangerous because of the numerous reefs. The southern cape of the island of Panitula Vela (43°45.4’ N 15°21.2 ‘ E) can be used as a landmark. When approaching the ACI Marina Piskera from Cape Opat, the route is somewhat easier. The southern cape of Veselyukh Island (43° 45.8’ N 15°22.4 ‘ E) can be used as a landmark, and behind it is the channel between the islands of Lavsa and Pishkera. The ACI Marina Piskera is visible immediately after passing through the channel.
