Full Description & Details
Priveziste Ika is a public marina in the coastal village of Ika on the Opatija Riviera, Croatia. It is open year-round and lies on the eastern side of Istria in the Kvarner Bay, with the marina Icici to the north and the port of Lovran to the south. The harbour area covers 71,074 square metres, of which 5,924 square metres is land and 65,150 square metres is sea. The marina consists of an operational quay, a protective breakwater and berths for boats. The operational quay is 26 metres long with depths alongside ranging from 1.2 to 4.6 metres.
The protective breakwater is 100 metres long and 15 metres wide, providing partial protection of the harbour basin. The inner side of the breakwater has moorings and anchorages, while the shore berths extend about 170 metres plus an additional 40 metres. The municipal part of the harbour has 126 berths. Protection is only from western winds, so the harbour is not fully sheltered from other directions. Depths in the harbour vary from 1.2 metres minimum to 20 metres maximum, with a maximum draft of 4.6 metres.
The marina is equipped with mooring devices and a crane with a capacity of 12 tonnes. Facilities include fuel, water, power, Wi-Fi, showers, repair services, a chandlery, provisions, and a restaurant. An eco container for waste oil is located in a visible place within the harbour. The marina has a connection to the road network, water supply and electricity. Overnight stays are permitted.
The harbour is open for public traffic of local significance, and its port area is defined by a decision of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. For berth reservations and specific information, contact the marina through the official website portopatija.hr/luka-ika/. The marina is well-charted in local maps and nautical guides, and approaching is straightforward, but sailors should be aware of local navigational aids and markers. The village of Ika offers restaurants and a grocery store about 300 metres south along the main road. The marina is easily accessible by road and close to major transport links, including the A8 motorway and public transport services.
How to get there
Approach Priveziste Ika from the sea, noting that the harbour is only well protected from western winds. You can berth alongside the north-eastern side of the pier, to the right of the lighthouse. There is enough space for 5 to 6 vessels there.
The southern side is occupied by local boats, and the many mooring lines make landing on that side inadvisable. Depths alongside the pier are more than 4 metres. In the southern part of the harbour, on the inner side of the breakwater, there are numerous mooring buoys, all occupied by local boats, so navigation in that area is not recommended.
The lighthouse at the head of the pier has the characteristic R Bl 3s 7m 3M. The harbour has a crane with a capacity of 5 tonnes (according to one source) or 12 tonnes (according to another). For VHF contact, no specific channel is provided; use the official website for communication.
On land, the marina is connected to the road network, and the nearest self-service store is about 300 metres south along the main road. The village of Ika is part of the Opatija Riviera, with easy access to Opatija and other coastal towns.
