Full Description & Details

Luka Volosko lies at the northern extremity of Rijeka Bay on Croatia's Kvarner coast, serving primarily as a communal berthing facility for local and visiting craft. The harbour comprises a 90-metre protective breakwater, a 54-metre operational quay, approximately 300 metres of berthing quay, and a historic square mandrac measuring 20 by 20 metres. All structures are of masonry and concrete construction and reported in good condition. The facility is equipped with mooring apparatus, two harbour lights and a boat ramp.

Depths alongside the breakwater range from 2.3 to 4.1 metres, while the operational quay offers 2.3 to 3.7 metres. The berthing quays show depths between 0.8 and 3 metres. The marina accommodates 230 berths and provides connections to mains water, electricity and road access. Wireless internet is available on the western side of the mole. An eco-container for waste oil reception is installed in a visible location within the harbour area.

The town of Volosko offers restaurants, bars and provisioning within walking distance of the berths. Fuel is available 1.5 nautical miles away in Opatija. The harbour operates year-round and is managed by Lucka uprava Opatija.

Mariners should note that bora winds can reach exceptionally high speeds within the harbour, making manoeuvring extremely demanding during such conditions. Berthing is not recommended when strong bora is forecast or blowing.

How to get there
