Full Description & Details

Lucica Icici is situated in the small resort of Icici on the Opatija Riviera in Kvarner Bay, at the foot of Mount Ucka. The marina opened in 1990 and has established itself as one of the largest nautical facilities in the northern Adriatic. The location lies 4 kilometres from Opatija and approximately 15 kilometres from Rijeka, with road access from the south, east and west.

The marina occupies part of the coastal area that was historically a working harbour serving the medieval timber trade from Veprinac. Until the late 19th century, the port handled vessels up to 100 tonnes carrying wood, coal, lime, chestnuts, oil and wine. An expansion project was proposed in 1837 but stalled due to lack of funds, with a renewed attempt in 1881. The modern marina development consumed part of the former local bathing area.

The facility is located near the centre of Icici, adjacent to the Blue Flag beach and within walking distance of restaurants including Commodore, Galeb, Triestina and bistro Lucica. The historic Art Nouveau Villa Munz from 1903 stands above the marina. Icici offers provisions, cafes and basic tourist services, while more extensive chandlery and repair facilities are available in nearby Opatija and Rijeka.

The marina operates year-round. Rijeka Airport provides the nearest air access, while Opatija-Matulji and Rijeka train stations serve rail connections. The 12-kilometre Lungomare coastal promenade links Icici with neighbouring towns along the Opatija Riviera.

How to get there

Lucica Icici lies in Kvarner Bay on the eastern Adriatic coast between Opatija to the north and Lovran to the south. The marina is visible from seaward in the small bay of Icici. The port accepts only smaller vessels, as stated in available sources. No specific approach bearings, waypoints, channel markers or VHF procedures are documented in the supplied materials.

By land, Icici is reached via the coastal road from Rijeka or from western Istria, approximately 30 kilometres from the nearest Istrian towns. The address is Liburnijska cesta bb, 51414 Icici. Rijeka Airport is the closest air terminal. The marina can be contacted by phone at +385 51 704 004. No customs or immigration formalities specific to this facility are mentioned in the sources.
