Full Description & Details
Olive Island Marina occupies the head of U. Sutomiscica bay on the northeast coast of Ugljan island, three miles west-southwest of Zadar. The marina operates year-round and provides 225 wet berths for yachts up to 50 metres in length. Depths range from 2.0 metres to 7.0 metres within the marina, with entrance depths of 2.5 to 3.0 metres. The marina offers good shelter in most wind conditions, though strong northeast winds can send swell into the bay, affecting some berths. Berthing at the end of the breakwater wall in strong north winds can be challenging due to limited protection and the wall's angle.
Visiting yachts berth stern or bows-to on the inside of the breakwater or on four pontoons extending from the southwest shore. All berths have laid moorings, water and electricity. The marina provides berthing assistance on request. Anchoring off the marina is possible in 4.0 to 5.0 metres over sand and mud, provided there is no northerly component in the wind. Space may also be available alongside village jetties on the east side of the inlet, with depths of 2.5 to 3.0 metres.
Facilities include a reception desk, restaurant and bar serving Dalmatian specialties, minimarket, chandlery, swimming pool, showers and toilets. The marina offers bike and scooter rental, and can arrange transfers, excursions and diving. A 30-tonne travel lift is available for basic repairs. A direct ferry service runs to Zadar, though it is expensive. The marina rarely becomes overcrowded, with berths usually available even in high season. The closest fuel station is located further south at Marina Preko.
