Full Description & Details
ACI Marina Piskera occupies the northern shore of the uninhabited island of Panitula Vela, positioned between Panitula Vela and Piskera islands within the Kornati National Park archipelago. The marina serves as a mid-point stopover for vessels transiting the park and is the sole facility on this remote 2.66 square kilometre island. The ACI flag flies from the island's highest prominence at 127 metres.
The marina provides 118 berths for vessels up to 30 metres LOA. Depths at the piers range from 2.5 to 3.5 metres; boats with drafts exceeding 2.5 metres should berth at the head of pontoons A, B, C or D, while vessels over 25 metres can moor at the reception pier. Protection from the northerly bura is good, but southerly winds and maestral can cause swelling and reduced shelter. The marina operates VHF channel 17.
Facilities include water and power connections at berths, showers, and the N20 restaurant within the marina complex. Water supply is restricted to 8:00-10:00 AM, and electricity is available 8:00 AM-12:00 PM and 6:00 PM-midnight. The marina is equipped with a fecal water discharge facility. A grocery shop is available on site, but fuel is located 12 nautical miles away. The price of daily berthing includes the Kornati National Park entrance ticket.
The marina operates seasonally from April 1st to October 31st. On the last Sunday in July, residents from Sali and surrounding settlements visit the island by boat to attend mass at the Church of the Nativity of Mary, creating significant local traffic.
How to get there
The island of Piskera lies within Kornati National Park, typically entered from the north via Proversa Mala and Proversa Vela straits or from the south between Cape Opat and Smokvica island. From Proversa, the route passes through channels between numerous islands and islets. When approaching from the north or west, pass between Skanji Reefs and the southern cape of Panitula Vela island (43°45.4' N 15°21.2' E) where the passage is safe with 7 metres depth.
The approach from the northwest between Panitula Vela and Piskera is shallow and dangerous due to reefs. From Cape Opat to the south, use the southern cape of Veseljuh islet (43°45.8' N 15°22.4' E) as a landmark; the marina is visible immediately after passing through the channel between Lavsa and Piskera islands. Contact the marina on VHF channel 17.
Panitula Vela is an uninhabited island with no road access. The nearest airports and towns require boat transfer. The marina address for postal purposes is Obala sv.
Ivana 47 E, 22242 Jezera. The Sibenik Harbour Master's Office maintains an outpost in Murter monitoring VHF channels 10 and 16.
