Full Description & Details
Marina Mali Losinj sits on the northeast side of a three-mile natural inlet on the west coast of Losinj island in the Kvarner Gulf. The marina is positioned just south of the Privlaka canal, approximately one mile northwest of Mali Losinj town centre. The inlet provides good protection in winds from most directions, though strong northwest winds can create choppy conditions at the harbour head. South winds such as Jugo can cause waves, requiring careful mooring away from the quay wall.
The marina accommodates 80 wet berths for vessels up to 18 metres in length with a maximum draft of 4.5 metres, though one source indicates depths up to 8.0 metres. All berths are equipped with water and electricity connections. The facility operates round-the-clock security and provides technical support. Wi-Fi is available throughout the marina. Sanitary facilities include showers and dressing rooms, with laundry services offered at 5.5 EUR per wash or dry cycle. A crane and boat lift are available for vessel maintenance. The marina also maintains 110 dry berths and indoor storage for 30 yachts up to 14 metres.
Marina Mali Losinj serves as a port of entry for Croatia, with the customs office located immediately south of the Privlaka canal. The harbourmaster's office is on the west side of the harbour. The marina is 9 kilometres from Losinj Airport and close to the town's cafes, restaurants and coastal attractions. The facility becomes very busy and crowded during July and August, and advance booking is highly recommended during peak season. A parking space is included with berth fees. Short stays of up to four hours are charged at 50% of the daily rate, with the daily rate covering occupancy until 12:00 on the last paid day.
How to get there
Marina Mali Losinj is approached through a 500-metre wide channel between the island of O. Koludarc to the south and the headland of Rt. Torunza to the north. Both features should be given a good clearance as shallows extend approximately 50 metres off them.
An alternative approach is through the narrow Prolaz Privlaka canal, which cuts through the spit of land enclosing the east side of the inlet one mile north-northwest of the harbour. The canal has an approximate depth of 2.4 metres and a width of 8 metres, making it suitable only for monohulls of moderate draft. The Privlaka bridge over the canal opens at 0900 and 1800 to allow yacht passage, with vessels from the south having priority.
In strong winds the bridge may be closed due to dangerous currents and waves. Contact the marina on VHF channel 17. By land, the marina is accessible via ferry from mainland Croatia to Cres island, then by road across the bridge connecting Cres and Losinj.
Losinj Airport is 9 kilometres away, with taxi or car rental available for the 15-minute transfer. The marina address is Priko 28, Mali Losinj. The customs office is immediately south of the Privlaka canal, and the harbourmaster's office is on the west side of the harbour, 100 metres north of the Yacht Club Marina pontoons.
