Dutch colonists who arrived in Grenada in the 1670s seized some land and the bay, calling it “Court Bay.” The French later reclaimed the land. Gedney Clark of Barbados bought land from the French between 1763 and 1801 totaling 780 acres, which included Court Bay. Hence it is called Clark’s Court today. Mr. Glass, given this rich history, decided to use the trade name for this project, Clarkes Court Boatyard & Marina.
