Location
Located just a stone’s throw away from the world-renowned principality of Monaco, Cap d’Ail Marina is nestled on the French Riviera’s stunning coastline. The Marina is positioned within the charming town of Cap d’Ail, celebrated for its Belle Epoque architecture and natural beauty.
Approach to the Marina (Marina Entry and Navigation)
When approaching, you can identify the entrance to the marina by the large protective wave breaker. The marina is easily accessible from the open sea, with the entrance located to the east. Access to the marina is available day and night, regardless of the weather conditions. When there are strong winds and a powerful opposing current along Digue du Large, it is recommended to navigate at a speed of 0.5 nautical miles. Be cautious when encountering strong west winds, as they can cause rough waters and backwash in the harbor basin.
The entrance lights are located at the southern dam, specifically the southwest corner (position 43°43′,4N – 007°24′,9E) – FI/G/4s11m10M. The inner end of the dam leads to the outer secondary dock – FI/R/4s7m6M. There is a danger of an underwater dam in front of Marke Beach. During strong west winds, expect choppy waters and a reverse flow in the harbor basin. All incoming vessels are advised to contact the harbor master’s office on VHF channel 9 to arrange berths and receive instructions. The maximum speed allowed in the harbor is 3 knots.
