Astrous Marina is a beautiful port, located in Astros town on the Aegean Sea, in close proximity to the Peloponnesian islands.
This small, bustling fishing port is located on the east coast of the Peloponnese. It is a truly Greek town, with many local attractions and a long sandy beach, popular with tourists.
During an extensive marina improvement project, new pontoons were built and the harbor was dredged to 3 to 4 meters.
The harbor now offers many mooring options: yachts can moor at the outer breakwater or at one of the two new floating pontoons.
Although depth is not an issue after the renovation, the bottom is still a mixture of silt and weeds, so anchoring is poor in places. Astrouse Marina offers good shelter from the prevailing winds, but beware of local catabatic winds that turn on in the evening for several hours from N/NW.
Warning: Strong catabatic winds blow from the mountains in the evenings.
Astrous Marina is a great harbor in the northeast Peloponnese. The town has transformed from a sleepy fishing village into a summer tourist resort, mostly for domestic tourism. A large medieval castle dominates the town and at the end of the S-shaped breakwater there are the ruins of some classical buildings.
