Full Description & Details

Njivice Marina is a small harbour on the northwest coast of the island of Krk, Croatia, about 21 nautical miles north of Krk Town. The marina offers 60 berths with depths ranging from 1.5 to 4 metres. Maximum vessel length is 18 metres, and maximum draft is 4 metres. The harbour is sheltered from east and south winds but exposed to northwest and southwest winds, which can create strong surge and make the harbour untenable. The eastern part of the harbour is shallow and rocky. Visiting yachts are best berthed alongside the long commercial pier on the west side of the harbour, where depths range from 2.5 metres near the root to about 3.5 metres at the end. Berths are primarily for local vessels, but overnight stays are permitted. Anchoring is possible except during northwest or southwest winds; the bay of Kijac, 1 nautical mile southwest, is recommended as an alternative.

Facilities on the berths include water and electricity. The marina has a slipway for launching vessels. There is no fuel station at the marina; the nearest fuel is 15 nautical miles away in Opatija or Krk. The town of Njivice has a supermarket, several provision shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, a beach, and a hotel. The marina is not a port of entry; the nearest ports of entry are Mali Losinj on the island of Losinj or Rijeka on the mainland.

Njivice Marina is open all year, from 1 January to 31 December. The best season for a stopover is during settled weather with winds from the east or south. In northwest or southwest winds, it is dangerous to remain at anchor or in the harbour. The approach is straightforward: the large commercial pier on the west side of the harbour is easily identifiable. The nearest airport is Rijeka Airport on the island of Krk, and the island is connected to the mainland by a bridge.

How to get there

Approach Njivice Marina from the northwest coast of Krk. The large commercial pier on the west side of the harbour is the main landmark. Depths at the pier range from 2.5 metres near the root to about 3.5 metres at the end.

The eastern part of the harbour is shallow and rocky, so avoid it. There is no VHF channel listed for the marina; contact by phone at +385 (0)91 - 256 37 22. The harbour is exposed to northwest and southwest winds, so check the forecast before entering.

By land, Njivice is on the island of Krk, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge. The nearest airport is Rijeka Airport on Krk. Bus services run from Rijeka and other towns on the island.

The marina is not a port of entry; the nearest ports of entry are Mali Losinj or Rijeka.
