Full Description & Details
Kraljevica harbour, operated as Luka Porto Re, is a small marina located in the historic seaside town of Kraljevica on the south side of Bakar Bay. The facility lies between Fortica and Ostro points, with the Krk Bridge linking the island of Krk to the mainland immediately south of the harbour. The marina accommodates approximately 60 nautical mooring berths for vessels up to a maximum length of 40 metres, with a maximum depth of 8 metres reported.
The marina is described as a quiet, accessible facility without charter companies, situated in an area known for crystal clear water. Yachts can moor beside the south shore of the harbour and along the shore in front of the Frankopan castle using four-point mooring, or north of the quay in Drazica cove. Smaller yachts may use Carevo cove north of the quay, though this location is exposed to bora and maestral winds. The harbour provides electricity and water from shore hydrants, with provisions available in the well-developed town infrastructure including bakery, mini-markets, pharmacy, butchers, vegetable shops and fish shops.
The town of Kraljevica features two medieval castles—the old Zrinski castle and the new Frankopan castle—along with Sv Nikola church, which serve as venues for cultural and entertainment events during summer. The harbour master maintains a branch office in Kraljevica, and the town offers medical services, banks, chemist, hotels and restaurants. The Kraljevica shipyard, located nearby, can carry out repairs of all kinds, and a small slip with a 3-tonne crane is available north of the quay. Fuel is available at a petrol station on the Adriatic highway approximately 700 metres from the harbour.
How to get there
Approaching Kraljevica harbour from the northwest, landmarks include the old church belfry on Ostro point, the castle on Fortica point, the church belfry, and the hospital building on the north shore. A round green buoy with a green light topped by a cone is anchored northwest of Ostro point at a depth of 20 metres. The harbour light provides additional navigation reference.
When approaching through Mala vrata, the Krk Bridge with its 67-metre vertical clearance is visible, along with the Uvala Scott hotel complex. The marina is accessible from both north and south through Tihi kanal, which passes under the Krk Bridge. When approaching from the south, navigate through Tihi kanal and under the bridge, then proceed past Dubno point.
The town of Kraljevica is located on the mainland coast with well-developed road connections via the Adriatic highway. Contact the marina by phone at +385 911 888 882 or email [email protected] for berth arrangements.
