Full Description & Details
Marina Martinis Marchi occupies the historic bay of Maslinica on the island of Solta, 12 NM west of Split. The marina is integrated into a restored 18th‑century Venetian castle estate, with a hotel, fine‑dining restaurant, and cafe set above the pontoons. The village itself is small and quiet, offering a few local konobas, a bakery, and a public beach beside the breakwater.
The marina provides 50 stern‑to berths on laid moorings, spread across floating pontoons inside the breakwater and a quay wall beneath the castle. Maximum LOA is 40 m inside the basin, rising to 80 m on the outer side of the breakwater, with a max draft of 12 m. Inner depths range from 2 m near the hotel quay to over 3 m closer to the breakwater; the outer breakwater offers 10–15 m depth. The holding ground outside the marina is sand/mud, suitable for anchoring.
All berths have electricity (16–125 A), potable water, and Wi‑Fi. Hotel‑standard toilets and showers are available. The castle restaurant, Sismis, serves modern Dalmatian cuisine (seasonal), and a cafe/amphitheatre operates in summer. E‑chargers for boats and cars, e‑bike rental, and waste disposal are offered. There is no fuel dock; the nearest fuel is at ACI Marina Rogac (8 NM away) or in Split.
The marina is protected from most directions by a chain of islets and a long breakwater. However, strong westerlies can push swell into the harbour, and Bora (NE) or SE winds may create uncomfortable waves. Winter berthing packages are available, and the marina remains open all year, though reception, hotel, and dining services are seasonal (May–October). For a typical 13‑m yacht, overnight fees range from €62–75.
How to get there
From Split, steer west towards Maslinica Bay; the crossing is roughly 12 NM, often completed in 90 minutes under sail in the summer Maestral. The preferred approach is from the south, passing between the mainland and the largest islet of the archipelago, keeping well clear of Hrid Kamicic rock (SSW of Balkun island). The northern entry, through channels between Polebrnjak and Saskinja, should be avoided by deeper‑draft yachts (least depth 2.8 m).
Call the marina on VHF channel 17 before entering to confirm a berth; the entrance is marked by the breakwater extending from the southern shore, with pontoons on the harbour’s south side. Split Airport (SPU) is 8 NM distant, reachable via Trogir. Ferries run from Split to Rogac on Solta’s north side, and a road (7 km) leads west to Maslinica.
Taxis and rental cars are available. The marina is not a port of entry; visiting yachts must complete customs formalities at Split or Hvar.
