Full Description & Details
Martinis Marchi Marina is a boutique Adriatic marina in Maslinica Bay on the west side of the island of Solta, about 12 nautical miles from Split and 8 nautical miles from Trogir and Split Airport. The marina is part of the historic Martinis Marchi castle estate, with a restored 18th-century Venetian castle that now houses a heritage hotel and a seaside restaurant. The setting is calm and atmospheric, sheltered by a chain of seven small islets known as the Maslinica Archipelago, which break the swell and create a natural harbour. The marina has 50 berths on floating pontoons, with additional places on the quay wall beneath the castle.
It accommodates vessels up to 40 metres inside the basin and up to 80 metres along the outer breakwater, with a maximum draft of 12 metres. Shore power (16-125A), water, and Wi-Fi are available on all pontoons. The sanitary facilities are integrated into the hotel complex and maintained to hotel standard. The marina is open all year, with reception on VHF 17 from May through October.
In high summer, calling ahead is advisable, as the marina can fill by mid-afternoon, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Off-season visits rarely require advance booking. The marina offers fuel, sewage disposal, a boat ramp, recycling, bicycle and car rental, video surveillance, a night watchman, a laundromat, and ice for sale. An on-site restaurant, Sismis, serves modern Dalmatian cooking, and a cafe and amphitheatre in ancient Greek style host events during the season.
The village of Maslinica, within walking distance, has local restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and small shops. A public beach is located next to the marina breakwater. The marina was awarded Best Small Marina in Croatia in 2018 and 2022.
How to get there
Maslinica bay faces west and is sheltered by the Maslinica Archipelago, a chain of seven small islets. The approach is straightforward from either the north or south side of the islet group; the southern passage between the mainland and the largest islet is the wider and more commonly used. Depths in the bay are 4-8 metres throughout, with a sand and mud bottom that provides good holding for anchoring off rather than taking a berth.
The marina reception operates on VHF 17 during the season (May through October). In high summer, calling ahead is advisable, as the marina can fill by mid-afternoon, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays when weekend traffic from Split peaks. Off-season visits rarely require advance booking.
The marina is 12 nautical miles from Split and 8 nautical miles from Trogir and Split Airport. From Maslinica, the road east to the ferry port at Rogac passes through Grohote, the island's only true town, which has a daily market, bakery, and cafes. The village of Maslinica is tiny, with a handful of stone houses, konobas, and quiet paths through olive groves.
The marina is part of the Martinis Marchi castle estate, with the heritage hotel and restaurant on site. For berth reservations, contact the marina directly or book through the Martinis Marchi hotel website.
