Full Description & Details
Marina Punat occupies the eastern shore of a virtually landlocked inlet two miles east of Krk Town on Krk Island in the Kvarner Gulf. The marina provides 800 wet berths for yachts up to 45 metres in length, plus 400 dry berths for winter storage. Vessels berth stern or bows-to on 14 pontoons with laid moorings, and transit yachts typically use the northernmost pontoon. Shelter is excellent in all conditions due to the inlet's protected geography.
Depths in the marina range from 2.5 to 3.0 metres, with the same depths found in the narrow entrance channel. All berths include drinking water connections, 16-amp electricity as standard, and wireless internet coverage across the entire marina. Higher amperage connections of 32, 63 or 125 amps are available on specified berths with prepaid arrangements. The marina offers over 70 showers with unlimited hot water across six bathroom facilities, plus a VIP sanitary block for annual berth holders. Self-service laundry, pump-out service for black and grey water tanks, and over 700 parking spaces are provided.
The boatyard handles all engine, mechanical and electronic repairs, with a 100-tonne travel lift, 50-tonne slipway, 10-tonne fixed crane, and space for 400 yachts on land. Original spare parts and antifouling services are available through the certified Yacht Service. On-site amenities include two a la carte restaurants, Hotel Kanajt with pool and wellness facilities, a minimarket, chandlery, ATMs, and car and scooter hire. The marina operates a Proactive Boat Care system with weekly vessel reports and mobile app monitoring. Punat town is a 10-minute walk from the marina.
Entry to the inlet is inadvisable in strong winds or swell due to the shallow channel. The marina maintains electronic card security, video surveillance, and a modern fire suppression system. Berthing assistance is available 24/7 on request via VHF channel 17 or telephone. The marina has no fuel dock; LPG is available but marine diesel is not supplied on site.
How to get there
The narrow entrance to the inlet lies approximately two miles east of Krk Town. The channel is clearly marked with red and green painted beacons, with the starboard beacons lit. Depths in the entrance channel are only 2.5 to 3.0 metres, making entry inadvisable in strong winds or any conditions that raise a swell.
Once through the entrance, Marina Punat is clearly visible on the east side of the inlet, opposite a small wooded islet. Call Marina Punat on VHF channel 17 for berthing assistance or advance reservations. The marina is located at Puntica 7 in Punat, approximately 10 minutes on foot from the town centre.
Road access from European cities includes 160 kilometres from Ljubljana, 130 kilometres from Trieste, and 350 kilometres from Graz. Buses run to Krk Town and Rijeka, and taxis serve the airport 30 kilometres away. The marina is not a port of entry; customs and immigration formalities must be completed elsewhere.
