Full Description & Details
Marina Funtana is a purpose-built facility opened in 2003 in the tourist and fishing village of Funtana on the Istrian coast. The marina operates year-round and provides 200 sea berths accommodating vessels from 5 to 30 metres in length. All berths feature double moorings with water and electricity connections. Depths at berths range from a minimum of 1.5 metres to a maximum of 4 metres.
The marina offers comprehensive facilities including a reception desk, air-conditioned sanitary facilities with showers, video surveillance, a cafe-bistro, dedicated parking, laundry services, and a technical service with crane. Additional services include a market, diver services, charter agency, and WLAN internet connection. The facility also has 40 dry berths. The town of Funtana provides restaurants, supermarkets, shops, out-patient clinics, post office, ATM, marine engine servicing, cafes, pizza restaurants, and entertainment centres within walking distance.
Fuel supply is not available at Marina Funtana itself. Yachtsmen requiring fuel must proceed to Marina Vrsar, located approximately 1.5 nautical miles to the south. The marina is situated in a bay with numerous shoals, cliffs and reefs, requiring careful navigation. The safest approach to the harbour is from the west. A lighthouse is positioned at the breakwater extremity, and the village bell tower serves as a landmark for entry.
Foreign navigators must obtain a sailing permission upon entering Croatian waters by docking at the nearest port for international sea traffic. Permissions may be time-limited or unlimited, with tourist tax amounts varying according to length of stay. The marina monitors VHF channel 17.
