Approach to the Marina
The marina is located at the head of the bay of U. Sutomiscica on the northeastern coast of Ugljan Island. With no significant navigational hazards and depths ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 meters at the entrance, the approach is safe for a variety of vessels. The marina is well-marked and can be contacted via VHF channel 17 for assistance in berthing.
Yachts visiting Olive Island Marina have the option to moor stern-to or bows-to along the inner side of the breakwater, or at one of the four pontoons extending from the southwest shore. The marina accommodates a range of vessel sizes with water depths varying between 2.0 meters and 7.0 meters. All berths are equipped with laid moorings for secure docking. However, docking at the extremity of the breakwater wall can be a bit challenging during strong northern winds, as this area offers limited protection and the wall’s angle may complicate berthing.
For those preferring to anchor, a suitable area lies off the marina, ideally when northern winds are not prevailing. Here, the water depth ranges from 4.0 to 5.0 meters, providing reliable anchorage over a seabed of sand and mud. Additionally, there’s an option to dock alongside one of the jetties located off the eastern side of the Sutomiscica village inlet. These spots offer water depths of approximately 2.5 to 3.0 meters, close to the village conveniences.
Specifications of the Marina
Olive Island Marina, operating all year round, offers a total of 225 berths. These berths can accommodate yachts up to 50 meters in length, with depths at the marina ranging from 2.0 to 7.0 meters. The berths are equipped with essential utilities like water, electricity, and Wi-Fi. Marina Preko is the nearest refueling station for yachts, which is located further south..
