Messolonghi Marina is on the western side of the basin, two kilometers northeast of the city of Messolonghi.
The marina is well protected and accessible through a 3 km long entrance channel.
Messolonghi Marina is located in the middle of a protected lagoon. When completed, it will be able to serve 280 boats.
Today Marina Messolonghi has 240 berths for vessels up to 16 meters; 40 moorings for boats up to 25 meters; boat storage facilities; 30 places for motorhomes; 120 ton lift; 35 ton trailer; closed entrance; cafes and restaurants; three utility buildings, including a laundry; toilets and showers; minimarket; naval service building; car rental; various shops and offices; parking; electricity and water; gas stations, pumping and Wi-Fi services.
Depths are from 6.0 to 10.0 meters, the largest depths are for free-standing pontoons. The entrance channel to the pool has a depth of 5.5 – 6.0 meters.
The channel leading to the Messolonghi basin is marked at the outer end by two buoys, port and starboard. It is very important to identify them before attempting to enter, as the sections on both sides are shallow. Enter between the buoys in the center of the channel and steer 007 degrees to the next two markers, the two port and starboard posts marked with red and black stripes respectively. After passing them, continue along the channel, which is marked with three more pairs of markers port and starboard. Depths in the channel are not less than 5.5 – 6.0 meters through to the basin. Once in the pool, be sure to continue towards the center before turning west towards the jetty, as there is shallow water on either side of the pool entrance.
