Full Description & Details

Luka Papranica is a natural anchorage on the western side of the island of Silba, in the Zadar archipelago of Croatia. The bay is one of two anchorages on the island's west coast that offer good shelter in all but southerly winds.

Silba itself is a small, wooded island with a population of about 265, known for its seafaring tradition and largely traffic-free interior. The anchorage is a quiet alternative to the busier harbour on the east side of the island.

How to get there

Approach Luka Papranica from the west or northwest, keeping a lookout for the island's western coastline. The bay is a natural indentation with no reported dangers in the immediate approach, though you should consult local charts for any unmarked obstructions.

There is no VHF channel listed for the anchorage; the nearest port of entry is Mali Losinj. Once anchored, the small settlement of Silba is a short walk away, and the island is accessible by ferry from Zadar and other mainland ports.
