Full Description & Details

Zminjak occupies a small island approximately one nautical mile north of Murter in North Dalmatia. The island is uninhabited except for restaurant staff and accessible only by boat. The marina operates in a bay on the southwestern side of the island, offering good protection from most wind directions except southwest and west.

The facility provides 32 mooring berths consisting of approximately 10 mooring buoys and a long jetty with space for about 20 boats alongside. Depths range from 1.5 metres near shore to 6 metres on the outer sections, with 3.5 metres reported at the jetty head. The seabed is sandy, providing good holding for anchoring. The jetty extends from the restaurant and allows lateral berthing.

The single restaurant on the island is well known for fresh fish dishes and steaks. Mooring is free for restaurant guests; otherwise a fee applies. The arrangement makes this an economical stop for vessels planning to dine. Due to the restaurant's popularity, advance reservation is advisable. A pebbled beach is easily accessible via the jetty.

Vessels should note that the marina experiences regular boat traffic during the day, though conditions quieten in the evening. The passage between Zminjak and neighbouring islands Veli Vinik to the south and Radelj to the north has a depth of 2.6 metres. The facility operates year-round, with the restaurant particularly active during the summer season.

How to get there

Zminjak lies on the northern side of Murter island. Vessels approaching should be aware of shallow water between Zminjak and the neighbouring islands: depths of 2.6 metres are reported between Zminjak and Veli Vinik to the south, and between Zminjak and Radelj to the north. The bay is located on the southwestern side of the island.

Depths decrease rapidly from the jetty head toward shore, with mariners advised to exercise caution when approaching the inner sections of the bay. The nearest fuel is 1.5 nautical miles away at Murter. There is no ferry service to Zminjak; access is by private boat only.

Vessels planning to use the restaurant should consider making a reservation in advance due to its popularity during the season.
