Full Description & Details

Stipanja Marina is a small, shallow marina at the root of the spit on the eastern side of Uvala Stipanja, in the village of Silo on the northeast coast of the island of Krk, Croatia. The marina is usually filled to capacity with local motor boats, so visiting yachts often find better berths along the breakwater of the small harbour west of the village. The bay is protected from eastern winds by the spit, and the breakwater offers good shelter from most directions, though strong northerly winds can make it untenable.

The village has a supermarket, other provisions shops, cafes, and restaurants, and the surrounding area includes the Old Town of Krk, Vrbnik, and the Baska Tablet. The marina has 100 berths for boats up to 20 meters, with depths from 2.5 meters inside the dock to 4-8 meters in the southeast corner. Amenities include a restaurant and power, but water, electricity, toilets, showers, laundry, fuel, and chandlery are not available.

How to get there

Approach to Stipanja Marina has no significant dangers, but note that a shallow patch extends about 200 meters off Rt Silo, the spit enclosing the bay's eastern side. The white octagonal tower at the root of Silo point and the green tower at the head of the breakwater in the small harbour are conspicuous. Entering the cove, take care of the shoal off Silo point and the protruding underwater part of the breakwater when mooring.

The nearest port of entry is Rijeka. The village is accessible by road via the Krk bridge, about 25 km from the bridge, and the nearest airport is on the island of Krk.
