Full Description & Details
Ravni Zakan lies in the south-western sector of the Kornati archipelago, between the larger islands of Kornat and Zut. The marina consists of a jetty operated by Restaurant Zakan, providing 70 mooring-line berths in a sheltered natural harbour within Kornati National Park. The bay entrance opens to the north-east, offering protection from the prevailing maestral and southerly winds. Depths at the jetty range from 1 to 5 metres. The anchorage is located at approximately 43°44'N, 15°18'E, roughly 3 nautical miles south of ACI Marina Piskera and 18 nautical miles south-west of Marina Jezera on Murter Island.
The marina provides electricity and water at the jetty. Shore power is supplied approximately from 07:00 to 24:00 hours, and drinking water is available from 09:00 to 13:00 hours. The restaurant serves as the primary facility, and visitors must purchase a national park ticket upon entry. Overnight anchorage is permitted in Ravni Zakan bay under park regulations. An alternative anchorage is available nearby at depths of 5-10 metres over sand and rock with good to moderate holding.
Navigation through the Kornati channels requires care, as depths vary and some passages narrow to just 50 metres. Sailors must pay constant attention to rocky reefs and shoals. When approaching from the north-east, keep well clear of shallow waters near Smokvica Vela island, approximately 2 nautical miles north-east of Ravni Zakan, where depths drop to less than 2 metres. The safest approach is through the main channel between Kornat and Zut islands. Night-time navigation is not recommended within the park.
