Full Description & Details
ACI Marina Korcula sits on the south side of the Korcula Old Town promontory, with the medieval walled town directly visible from every berth. The position is among the best of any ACI marina: a 5-minute walk to one of the most architecturally consistent medieval old towns on the Adriatic, with the Pelesac peninsula 1.5 nm across the strait. The marina is a popular charter overnight stop for both Split-based and Dubrovnik-based itineraries.
The marina offers 159 in-water berths with a maximum yacht length of 50 m (daily berth) and a maximum draught of 5 m. Depths range from 4 m to 4 m. The basin is sheltered from the prevailing Maestral (NW) by the Old Town promontory itself, but it is exposed to Jugo (SE); in any forecast Jugo above 25 knots, the basin gets choppy with reflected swell. Bura impact is moderate, with the Old Town giving partial protection. Mooring is stern-to-dock with mooring lines provided.
Facilities include fuel, water, power (16A and 32A standard), free marina-wide Wi-Fi, showers, restrooms, a restaurant, and a crane. A sewage pump-out device is fitted. The marina has a bankomat, laundry, hairdresser, and parking. A petrol station is 0.5 nm away. Provisioning: a small Studenac in the Old Town has basics; a larger Konzum is a 10-minute walk on the modern town side. Dining options include Filippi for fine dining and Konoba Adio Mare for peka.
The marina is open all year round. It holds the Blue Flag award and has won prizes for best small marina. The entrance is narrow but well-marked; approach at 4-5 knots and call on VHF channel 17 for berth assignment. In July-August, the marina books out by mid-afternoon, so reserve 48h+ ahead via the ACI app. The nearest airports are Split and Dubrovnik. Korcula Old Town attractions include St Mark's Cathedral with a Tintoretto altarpiece, Marco Polo's House, and the Moreska sword dance in summer.
How to get there
Approach the Korcula channel from either side, from the west (Hvar/Split direction) or from the east (Mljet/Dubrovnik direction). The channel between Korcula island and the Pelesac peninsula is well-marked, 1.5 nm wide, with the Pelesac ferry crossing constantly; watch for ferry traffic and stay well clear of ferry approach lines. The marina entrance is on the south side of the Korcula Old Town promontory, 200 m from the Old Town walls.
If coming from Hvar through the Pelesat canal, use the red lighthouse (Fl R 2s 7m 4M) at 42°57.8' N 17°08.4' E as a reference; the marina becomes visible after rounding that lighthouse and the peninsula. The entrance from the south side of the breakwater is marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 5s 7m 4M). From the south, the safest route is to pass north of the Sestrice (Fl (4) W 15s 18m 11M) and Stupe Velike (Fl (Obscd) R 3s 9m 3M) lighthouses, then use the green lighthouse in the eastern part of the city harbor (Fl G 3s 7m 2M) as a landmark.
During summer storms, avoid the western part of the city harbor. Berth assignment is via VHF channel 17; call 30 minutes before arrival.
