Full Description & Details
Incirli Bay is the cove north of the lighthouse (Fl (2) 10s 12m 8M) on Gocek Island, within the Gocek northern entrance-exit channel. The bay has deep water and both slopes are covered with pine trees, with a pebble beach at the head of the cove. It is sheltered from the Meltemi, making it a calm spot for boats on the Fethiye-Gocek route.
The water is clean and the natural surroundings are described as very beautiful, though the bay is part of the Fethiye-Gocek Special Environmental Protection Area, so anchoring is prohibited and mooring buoys are provided instead. A vaulted pier sits at the beach, and the shore facility includes a beach unit, restaurant, and camping area. Water can be supplied to boats at the pier on request, and the facility operators offer transfers from Gocek, which is 1.3 miles away.
How to get there
The bay lies within the Gocek northern entrance-exit channel, and boats sailing the Fethiye-Gocek route pass directly through this area. The cove is positioned north of the lighthouse on Gocek Island, which flashes twice every 10 seconds at a height of 12 meters with a range of 8 nautical miles. Use the lighthouse as the primary visual reference when approaching, and note that the bay has deep water, so there are no reported draft restrictions for entry.
The mooring buoys are located in the middle of the cove, and the vaulted pier is at the beach. Since anchoring is prohibited, you must pick up a buoy rather than drop anchor. For shore access, the facility provides transfers from Gocek, which is 1.3 miles away, and the pier is available for landing.
