Full Description & Details
Konoba Smokvica occupies a jetty and concrete pontoon in U. Lojena inlet on the south side of Smokvica Vela island within Kornati National Park. The facility was completely renovated in 2018 and reopened in 2019 under new management, having previously operated as Konoba Mare. The marina serves exclusively as a berthing facility for patrons of the restaurant, making dining at the konoba obligatory for all vessels using the berths.
The inlet provides protection from all wind directions except southerly winds, which leave the anchorage completely exposed. The renovated jetty and pontoon accommodate 6-8 yachts with laid mooring lines and concrete bollards. Depths alongside range from 2.5 to 5 metres. Power is available upon request, though not at all times. Vessels with larger drafts should prefer the outer jetty positions. The facility operates as a marina with no traditional marina amenities beyond the restaurant services.
The restaurant focuses on authentic Mediterranean and Dalmatian cuisine under MasterChef Andrija Kero, emphasizing fresh, high-quality fish and minimally processed ingredients. The menu features fusion elements including carpaccio, sushi and sashimi alongside traditional dishes. As part of Kornati National Park, all visiting vessels must hold a valid daily park permit. The island itself has limited seasonal habitation, primarily consisting of restaurant staff, national park personnel and their families during summer months.
How to get there
Konoba Smokvica lies on the left-hand side when entering U. Lojena inlet from seaward. Navigational references include a chapel on the east point of the bay, houses at the base, the lighthouse on the north point of the island in Opat Straits, the lighthouse on Mrtovnjak islet 2.2 miles southeast, and the light marking Tabnjak Reef south-southeast of the bay. Vessels should evacuate the anchorage if strong southerly winds are forecast, as the inlet is completely open to the south.
Reservations for berths should be made by calling the same day in advance. The facility is located at coordinates 43°43'33.7"N 15°28'34.8"E on Smokvica Vela island. The nearest year-round ports of entry are Zadar and Sibenik; summer-only entry ports include Bozava and Sali on Dugi Otok.
Marina Piskera lies seven miles northwest as the nearest full-service marina.
