Full Description & Details
Yalikavak Marina sits on the Bodrum Peninsula in the Aegean town of Yalikavak, about 20 kilometres west of Bodrum town centre. It is a large, modern superyacht facility that opened in 2011 and operates year round. The marina is known for its high-end retail, restaurants and hotels, but the core business is berthing yachts up to 140 metres LOA. It holds a Blue Flag and a TYHA 5 Gold Anchor Platinum certification, and has been voted World's Best Superyacht Marina in several recent years.
The marina has 620 berths with a maximum draft of 9 metres. Mooring is Med style, stern to, on all docks and pontoons except pontoon G, where berthing is alongside with two bow mooring lines. All berths have mooring lines supplied. Anchoring is not allowed inside the marina; nearby bay anchorages are the alternative. Holding in the marina itself is not relevant since berths are on pontoons. The entrance breakwaters are marked with red and green lights, and a pilot dinghy assists vessels entering.
Facilities are extensive. There is a fuel station with duty free fuel supply, water, electricity with shore power up to 1400 amps, high speed wifi, showers, laundry, and a travel lift with 260 ton and 100 ton capacity. Technical services cover maintenance and repair. A supermarket, chandlery, restaurants, nightclubs, a beach club, clinic and pharmacy are on site. The marina has a 24 hour traffic control tower, CCTV security, and electronic card controlled gates on the docks. A golf car shuttle runs within the marina.
Contact the traffic control tower on VHF 72 before arrival and prior to departure. Pilotage is compulsory for vessels over 1000 gross tonnes, with the pilot boarding station at the entrance of the bay. Diving services are provided only by marina divers. Duty free fuel requires the yacht to leave Turkish territorial waters after bunkering. The marina is open all year round, and the Bodrum Cup sailing event starts from here each October.
How to get there
Approach Yalikavak Marina on VHF 72 and contact the traffic control tower before entering. The entrance is marked with red and green lights on the breakwaters. Wait for pilot dinghy assistance before entering the marina.
For vessels over 1000 gross tonnes, pilotage is compulsory and the pilot boarding station is at the entrance of the bay. Provide vessel name, length, berth number if known, and last port of call when hailing. The marina is in Yalikavak on the Bodrum Peninsula, reachable by road from Bodrum town.
The nearest airport is Milas-Bodrum Airport, about 40 kilometres away. Yalikavak Halk Plaji beach, Magi beach and Kudur Potetos Beach are nearby attractions. Formalities for arrivals from foreign ports follow standard Turkish customs and immigration procedures.
