Full Description & Details

Kairos Marina is a well-established harbour on the northern side of the Datca Peninsula, in the village of Karakoy, facing the Gokova Gulf. The marina is sheltered by a high concrete wall and offers good year-round protection, making it a popular stop for yachts cruising between Bodrum and the Greek islands. It has 250 berths with depths of 3 to 6 metres, and can accommodate vessels up to 40 metres LOA.

The marina provides electricity, water, showers, toilets, laundry, WiFi, and fuel (diesel) via truck-tanker for larger quantities. On-site amenities include a Migros supermarket, restaurants, a small chandlery, and a 100-ton crane for haul-out. The staff, particularly the marina manager Kamil, are frequently praised for their helpfulness and hospitality.

A regular ferry service connects to Bodrum, and a bus runs hourly to Datca town. The marina is well-regarded for its clean facilities and friendly atmosphere, though some visitors note that prices can be higher than other Turkish marinas.

How to get there

Approaching from west or north, the entrance can be hard to discern; from Akcalı Ada, Kormen Bay is 7 miles away. From the east, Ince Burun is conspicuous, and Kormen Bay lies to the southwest of Kaya Burnu. The marina entrance is from the northwest and is not lit; there are no lights on the breakwater heads.

In strong winds, care is needed at the entrance to the larger basin, as a confused swell can develop and waves may break over the smaller inlet's breakwater. The depth in the smaller inlet is 4 to 6 metres, and the width between the main breakwater and mole is 80 metres. Contact the marina on VHF Channel 73 or call +90 532 064 26 48 for berthing instructions.

Moor stern-to or bow-to where directed, with laid moorings tailed to the pontoons. The holding is generally good in sand and weed. The northern part of the quay is used by the car ferry, so leave it clear.
