Full Description & Details
Navar Marina (Bonici) lies between Tivat town centre and Tivat Airport, forming the marina arm of the Navar shipyard. While the yard is the primary activity, the marina provides about 30 outdoor pontoon berths reserved for visiting yachts up to 15 metres LOA. The larger shipyard can haul and store yachts up to 50 metres, making it a significant repair hub in the region.
The marina is well protected from most wind directions, though westerlies can cause some exposure. The alongside depth is 3 metres. Vessels approaching from the sea should steer in from the west‑southwest, paying close attention to the shallow area of Tunja near Sveti Marko island. Once inside, the calm basin ensures easy docking.
On the berths, skippers have access to water, electricity, Wi‑Fi and fuel. Ashore there are toilets, showers and parking. A supermarket, taxi rank and bus stop are within walking distance, so provisioning is straightforward. The real strength of Navar, however, is its shipyard: a 200‑tonne travel lift handles vessels up to 45 metres, while a secondary 60‑tonne lift caters for boats up to 25 metres. Repair services include hull washing, engine servicing and teak treatments, making it a self‑contained stop for both routine and major maintenance.
The marina is a 5‑minute drive from Tivat Airport and 90 minutes by car from Podgorica and Dubrovnik airports. The nearby town of Tivat offers dining, shopping and connections to Porto Montenegro and the Bay of Kotor attractions.
How to get there
The recommended approach is from the west‑southwest. Mariners should navigate with care near the shallows of Tunja, which lie close to the island of Sveti Marko. Once inside the harbour, protection is good in all conditions except strong westerlies. No dedicated VHF channel is published, so contact the marina by telephone when needed.
The marina is situated between the centre of Tivat and Tivat Airport, about five minutes’ drive from either. A taxi rank and bus stop are within easy walking distance. The nearest international airports are Tivat (5 min), Podgorica (90 min), and Dubrovnik (90 min by car).
