Full Description & Details
Sveta Marina is a small marina in the village of Cervar Porat, on the western coast of Istria, about 6 km north of Porec. The marina occupies the southeastern part of the natural Cervara inlet, surrounded by olive groves and coniferous forest. It is a compact facility with 50 berths, intended mainly for communal use and suited to smaller boats. The marina is open year-round and operates as a stopover for cruisers exploring the Istrian coast.
The marina offers depths from 1 to 15 meters, with a maximum berth length of 25 meters and a maximum draft of 5 meters. Berths are available for vessels up to 25 meters LOA, though the shallow minimum depth and the presence of shellfish farms in front of the port mean that docking is practical only for tenders or smaller boats with a shallow draft. Anchoring is prohibited within the marina itself; small boats can anchor to the north in Sveta Marina cove, where the depth is about 6 meters. The holding is not described, but the cove is a known alternative.
Onshore facilities include water, power, wifi, showers, a restaurant, a grocery store, and a chandlery. The marina also has a reception, sanitary facilities with hot water, a hotel, a post office, sports and recreational facilities, a disco, a tourist agency, currency exchange, and a doctor. A grocery store and a restaurant are located within the marina. The town center is about 500 meters away, and the beach at Cervar Porat is 1.5 kilometers long.
The marina is protected from the winds but is subject to incursions of the Mistral and Tramontana. For those approaching from the south, entry into the bay is obstructed by the submerged reefs of the Skolj and Civran shoals, marked by north and west cardinal buoys. At night, the danger area is in the red sector of the Cape Rt lighthouse (15s, 5 M) and Barbaran islet (5s, 5 M). The marina is open year-round, and nearby attractions include Labin's old town and Rabac's beach and seaside path.
How to get there
Approaching from the south, be aware of the submerged reefs of the Skolj and Civran shoals that obstruct entry into the bay. These dangers are marked by north and west cardinal buoys, and at night the danger area is in the red sector of the Cape Rt lighthouse (15s, 5 M) and Barbaran islet (5s, 5 M). The marina is in the southeastern part of the Cervara inlet, and the port of Sveta Marina is in the northeast of the port of Cervar.
Contact the marina on VHF channel 17 for berthing instructions. Land access is from the village of Cervar Porat, which is about 500 meters from the marina. The town of Porec is 6 km to the south and can be reached by bicycle paths starting from the marina.
The nearest airport is likely Pula, but no specific airport is mentioned in the sources. Formalities are standard for Croatian marinas; the marina is open year-round.
