Full Description & Details
Port Rogoznica lies on the western side of an island connected to the mainland by an embankment and road, in the heart of the peaceful Rogoznica bay. The harbour serves a picturesque Mediterranean village of about 800 inhabitants and is a favourite stop for sailors exploring the central Dalmatian coast. The waterfront is lined with cafes and restaurants, and several provisions shops and a supermarket are available in the village, ensuring a comfortable stay.
With around 35 berths equipped with mooring lines, the town quay can accommodate boats up to 30 metres in length. Depths at the quay range from 2.5 to 5 metres. The bay itself is exceptionally well sheltered, rated one of the safest on the Adriatic. For extra space or a quieter night, an anchorage is available in the large bay east of the village – simply bear north after passing the island.
Basic services are provided directly at the quay: shore power and drinking water connections, clean modern sanitary facilities (toilets and showers) in an inner courtyard, and designated bins for waste. There is no fuel dock at Port Rogoznica, but Marina Frapa a short distance away has a fuel station, as well as a chandlery, laundry and comprehensive repair services for those needing more extensive support.
How to get there
The approach to Port Rogoznica is straightforward, with no major offshore hazards except scattered small islets off the coast. Once inside the bay, identify the island with the village of Rogoznica. To reach the town quay or marina basin, turn to port, leaving the island to starboard.
If heading for a mooring buoy or the anchorage in the eastern bay, turn to port after passing the island and continue north. Pay close attention to the marked shallows of Veli Brak west of the harbour and the shoal areas around Vela and Mala Smokvica islands. There is no listed VHF working channel for the harbour.
By land, Rogoznica is about 30 km south of Split Airport (SPU) and around 100 km west of Zadar Airport. The village is accessible by road, with taxi and bus connections available from the airports and nearby towns.
