Full Description & Details
Marina Frapa Dubrovnik is a protected marina at the entrance to Gruz maritime area, opposite the ferry port Gruz and close to the old town of Dubrovnik. Opened in June 2019, it sits next to the Orsan Yacht Club and opposite the landing pier for large passenger ships. The marina has 220 berths for yachts up to 100 meters, with megayachts berthed in the western part and superyachts alongside the heads of the jetties. Water depth ranges from 4 to 10 meters. Berths come with mooring lines, electricity, water, and free Wi-Fi, though a card must be presented at reception. A unique feature is the tank emptying service at each berth, one of the first in the Mediterranean outside Turkey, allowing yachts to vacuum their sewage tanks at any berth.
The marina offers a range of services including 24/7 video surveillance, night watchman, laundry, vessel cleaning, currency exchange, ATM, private parking, Tesla charger, car rental, yacht charter, taxi services, and gas bottle filling. The light-flooded reception is open from 07:00 to 23:00 in season, shorter in winter. Sanitary facilities are modern and located next to reception, with a swimming pool and lounge bar on the roof terrace, shaded with awnings in summer, offering views of the harbor with ocean liners. The pool area is available for transit guests. The marina has its own restaurant with a show kitchen serving Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, and several good restaurants are in the immediate vicinity.
A Pemo mini market is about 400 meters away and a Tommy supermarket about 900 meters. An Ina fuel station is directly in front of the marina, suitable for smaller yachts up to about 10 meters; larger yachts can go up the canal to Komolac for fuel. The marina provides waste separation for glass, plastic, and paper, plus collection points for batteries and medicines. External companies handle laundry and repair services. The old town of Dubrovnik is about 1.5 kilometers away, reachable by taxi in about 5 minutes for less than 10 euros, by bus in 10-15 minutes, or on foot in about 20 minutes with markers indicating the way.
Protection is good, though swell from nearby cruise ships is tolerable. The jetties are somewhat high for smaller yachts. The marina is rated highly for hospitality, cleanliness, and services. Diesel fuel is available at 1.55 euros per liter. An alternative anchorage is in Gruz bay near Komolac, about 2 kilometers northwest. The marina operates on VHF channel 17.
