Full Description & Details
Luka Saplunara is a natural bay on the southeastern tip of Mljet Island, in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Croatia. It is one of the most popular anchorages on the southern Dalmatia sailing route, known for its sandy beaches, Velika and Mala Saplunara, and the nearby Blaca lagoon (Limuni beach) just southeast of the bay.
The bay is a natural harbour with no marina infrastructure, offering a quiet, undeveloped stopover away from the national park's western side.
How to get there
Approach Luka Saplunara from the open sea, heading for the bay's entrance on Mljet's southeastern coast. The bay is a natural harbour with no marked channel or VHF contact; anchor or pick up one of the 15 mooring buoys inside.
The seabed is sand, with depths of 6 to 10 metres, providing good holding in settled conditions. Beware of south winds (jugo), which can trap you in the bay overnight, so check the forecast before committing to stay.
