Full Description & Details

Istinye Marina, also known as Istmarin Istinye, sits on the European shore of the Bosphorus in Istanbul's Sariyer district. The marina occupies the old shipyard area of Istinye Bay, a large, natural indentation that offers shelter from the main Bosphorus current. The surrounding coast is densely built up and urban, with shops and restaurants lining the waterfront. The marina has operated here since 2012, built on floating pontoons that replaced a concrete quay.

The basin is deep, with depths ranging from 3.5 to 23 metres, and the marina offers 188 berths for yachts up to 30 metres LOA. All berths have water and electricity connections with 16A, 32A and 63A single-phase and three-phase supply. The holding is on mooring lines to the floating pontoons. The marina is sheltered within the bay, though the Bosphorus itself is subject to a strong current from the north.

Facilities include a fuel station, showers, toilets, laundry, and a waste collection system with bilge pump-out. A fish market and shops are nearby, and the marina is surrounded by seafood restaurants and cafes. The marina provides 24-hour security and a fire-fighting system. A slipway can handle boats up to 7 metres. The marina is open year-round.

VHF channel 73 is used for contact. The marina is close to Coast Guard and Maritime Safety stations. The approach is straightforward in daylight and at night, though the entrance light can be hard to pick out against the city lights behind it. The marina is 32 km from Ataturk Airport and 23 km from Esenler bus terminal.

How to get there

The approach to Istinye Marina is straightforward in daylight and at night. The harbour entrance is lit green on the starboard side, but it can be difficult to make out against the many background lights of the city. The marina lies within the large, sheltered bay of Istinye on the European side of the Bosphorus. Contact the marina on VHF channel 73 before arrival.

Istinye is a district of Istanbul, and the marina is at the water's edge in the Eski Tersaneler area. The marina is 32 km from Ataturk Airport and 23 km from Esenler bus terminal. The surrounding area is densely built up and urban.
