Full Description & Details
Porto Deportivo de Sada is a marina in the town of Sada, on the Golfo Artabro coast of Galicia, about 500 m from the town centre. The marina occupies a public domain area of 36,000 m2 and was built in 2008 by Club Nautico de Sada, which operates it as a concession from Portos de Galicia. The concession was extended in 2020 and now runs to 2048. The marina has 345 berths for vessels up to 20 m LOA, with a minimum depth of 2 m. The bay offers good shelter, and the marina is a functional base for exploring the nearby attractions of the Torre de Hercules, Castelo de Santa Cruz and the Fabrica de Sargadelos.
The marina provides water, power, fuel (gasoline and diesel), a crane, a 50-tonne travel lift, a ramp, a waiting dock, black water pumping, waste oil and rubbish collection, and a weather information service. Onshore there is a bar, restaurant, supermarket and provisions, with a pharmacy, first aid and a workshop nearby. The marina office is on site and can be contacted by phone at +34 981 619 015 or by email at [email protected]. The marina has a website at www.sadamar.es. Overnight stays are permitted.
Approach is straightforward between the islets of A Marola and Miranda, leading to a wide entrance. Vessels coming from the north should position one mile south of Cabo Priorino Chico and steer 135 degrees until the Torre de Hercules is no longer visible, leaving about 4 miles to the harbour entrance. Once inside, watch for the Pulgueira rock, which uncovers at low water and is marked by a red light and surrounding yellow buoys. The tide range can be up to 4 m, so carry a tide table. In fog or at night, keep a lookout for mussel rafts anchored off Lorbe. The marina monitors VHF channel 9.
