Full Description & Details
Porto de Camelle is a working fishing and shellfishing port on the Costa da Morte in Galicia, Spain, within the municipality of Camarinas. It is a small, traditional harbour where local boats land octopus, pollock, sea urchins and goose barnacles, and it has its own fish market (lonxa).
The port is the focus of the village of Camelle, which sits between Camarinas and Laxe on this exposed stretch of Atlantic coast.
How to get there
Approach Porto de Camelle from the sea, keeping clear of the rocky ground that surrounds the harbour. The port is marked on charts as a marina and harbour.
There is no published VHF channel for the port; contact the Portos de Galicia office at 881880313 for berthing information. The entrance is straightforward in settled weather, but the open Atlantic location means swell and wind can make the approach uncomfortable.
