Full Description & Details
Porto Deportivo da Pobra do Caraminal is a modern marina on the north coast of the Ria de Arousa, between Punta Ladina and Punta de la Merced. It offers 365 berths total, with 60 for transient visitors and 305 permanent. The maximum recommended length is 24 meters, with a depth of 3 meters at the harbour mouth and 3.5 meters inside.
The marina is sheltered and easy to access, even in difficult weather, though it is exposed to the southeast. Finger pontoons are about three-quarters length and low, and there is a long waiting pontoon outside the marina that is exposed to the northeast. The marina is considered secure for winter storage, with space ashore for hard standing.
How to get there
Day approach: From outside the ria, follow the main channel between the Jidoiro Pedregoso and Isla Rua, which is about 1,600 meters wide with depths of 60 to 70 meters. Continue on a heading of 020°, leaving the red buoy of As Touzas to port and the green buoy of Punta Barbafeita to starboard. After passing Barbafeita, head north, keeping at least 1,000 meters off the port side to avoid the Sinal de Ostreira shoal and the Caraminal G mussel raft polygon.
Then head for the marked breakwater of the port. Night approach: Follow the same route using the lights: the Jidoiro Pedregoso and Isla Rua have a GpD(2) BR 7s 26m 12M light, the Sinal de Ostreira shoal has a red DR 5s 10m 5M light, and the Caraminal G polygon has a yellow DA 5s 3M light. The outer breakwater of A Pobra do Caraminal shows a green GpD(3)V 9s 10m 5M light, and the floating pontoons show GpD(2+1)R 15s 3M (south) and GpD(4)V 11s 1M (west).
Contact the marina on VHF channel 09 on arrival.
