Full Description & Details

ACI Marina Split lies in Uvala Baluni, on the northern side of Split’s city port, directly under the gaze of Diocletian’s Palace and the green peninsula of Sustipan. The marina is the starting point of the famous Split Lungomare promenade and offers a striking view of the historic city centre, which is only about 8 km away. With 318 wet berths and 15 dry berths, it is a medium-sized, Blue Flag marina that has earned multiple Croatian tourism awards, including second place in the “Tourist Flower” competition in 2017. Open all year, it attracts both seasonal cruisers and long-term berth holders.

Protection is excellent from southerly winds and sea, thanks to a solid rock breakwater. The marina can accommodate vessels up to 90 m LOA on daily berths and 26 m on annual contracts. Berths are supplied with water, electricity and Wi‑Fi. Depths inside the marina are reported as 8 m (one source), though another modern listing suggests a maximum draft of 2.8 m; mariners should verify upon approach. There is a separate fuel dock, and a sewage pump‑out station helps the marina maintain its Blue Flag status. Anchor only in emergencies – the entire port of Split is a no‑anchoring zone.

Facilities include modern sanitary blocks with disabled access, free Wi‑Fi, a launderette, a grocery supermarket, a nautical equipment shop (chandlery), and a restaurant. Boat maintenance is supported by a technical repair service and a crane/boat lift. An ATM, parking, and Tesla EV chargers are available on site. Charter boat rental is also offered. A customs office is located nearby.

The marina sits inside one of Croatia’s busiest ferry ports. Vessels departing have right of way; extra caution is essential. Approach is through a wide channel marked by lights and daymarks. Key landmarks are the cathedral bell tower, Cape Sustipan’s red tower (Fl R 6s 9m 5M), and the main breakwater’s green lighthouse (Fl G 6s 11m 10M) with a fog horn. The inner breakwater’s red tower (Fl R 2s 6m 3M) marks the final turn. Contact the marina on VHF channel 17 when nearing. The nearest airport is Split Airport, and the marina has good road connections via the A1, E65 and E71 motorways. Booking in advance is advisable during high season.

How to get there

The port of Split is a busy ferry terminal; enter with extreme caution. Ships exiting have right of way and must not be obstructed. Anchoring is prohibited anywhere in the port except in an emergency.

Approach through the wide harbour entrance, using the following landmarks: the cathedral bell tower, the stone obelisk lighthouse (Fl(2) W 20s 54m 10M) on the eastern side, Cape Sustipan’s red tower (Fl R 6s 9m 5M) on the port side, and the main breakwater’s green lighthouse (Fl G 6s 11m 10M) to starboard, which also has a fog signal and 30-second horn. To enter ACI Marina Split, steer closer to the inner breakwater, marked by a red tower with a column, gallery and light (Fl R 2s 6m 3M). The marina reception, restaurants and workshops are visible.

The newly built western shore is not hydrographically surveyed; mooring there is prohibited except at the fuel dock. Contact ACI Marina Split on VHF channel 17 for berth assignment. The marina is located approximately 8 km from Split’s historic centre.

Split Airport is the nearest air gateway. Road access is via the A1, E65 and E71 motorways. A customs office is situated nearby.

Taxis and public transport connect the marina to the city.
