Marina Makarska is located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, about 60 km (37 miles) southeast of Split and 140 km (87 miles) northwest of Dubrovnik. It is located in a horseshoe-shaped bay between the mountains of Biokovo and the Adriatic Sea. There is a fuel station on site as well as sanitary facilities and restaurant. Boat charter and spa facilities are also on offer, with shops, bakery, workshops and nautical supplies within under half a kilometer from the marina.
Makarska is one of the most famous marinas on the Croatian coast, attracting yachtsmen with its natural features and climate, as well as with many entertainment, sports and cultural facilities.
The city of Makarska originated in a natural harbor bordering Cape Osejava in the southeast and the peninsula of Sveti Petar in the northwest. It is located in the center of the Makarska Riviera and is a popular tourist destination. It extends for 60 km (37 mi) between the municipalities of Brela and Gradac. Over the past 50 years, the city has expanded to include the villages of Veliko Brdo, Puharichi, Batinici and Makar, which are located at the very foot of Biokovo Mountain.
The Biokovo Nature Park is an interesting sightseeing site, ideal for hiking to get to know the diversity of flora and fauna.
The city of Makarska is known for its palm-fringed promenade, where restaurants with a variety of high-quality cuisine, bars and boutiques overlook the harbour. Near the beach there are several large-capacity hotels, as well as a campsite.
