Full Description & Details
Porto de Redes is a small fishing port in the village of Redes, in the parish of Caamouco, on the northern shore of the inner Ria de Ares in Galicia, Spain. The port sits within the Golfo Artabro, north of A Coruna, and is one of the most characteristic fishing harbours of the Rias Altas.
Redes is an old and small fishing village that keeps its traditional seafaring character, with Indian-style houses and a working fishing heritage, though commercial fishing has now disappeared. The port is part of the Ares municipality and is located at Punta do Castillo, 15623 Redes, Ares, A Coruna.
How to get there
Approach Porto de Redes from the Ria de Ares, following the indications of Spanish Navy Hydrographic Institute chart No. 9290. The anchorage and port are in the inner part of the ria, on its northern shore, and the ria itself presents no navigation difficulties, with safe anchorages and berthing ports.
The cove of Redes offers secure anchoring with sufficient depth and a sandy bottom, and from May to September it is well protected from first and fourth quadrant winds, so the S-SW component winds do not affect it during this season.
