Full Description & Details

Gunluklu Koyu is a small bay on the north side of Kargilik Koyu, within the Gulf of Fethiye on Turkey's Turquoise Coast. The bay is backed by a shingle beach and sweetgum woodland, with a calm, green setting.

It is a quiet, deep anchorage suited mainly to a swim stop, and it is popular with local weekend visitors. The bay takes its name from the sweetgum trees, known locally as gunluk trees, which line the shore.

How to get there

Approach Gunluklu Koyu from the Gulf of Fethiye, heading into the north side of Kargilik Koyu. The bay is small and open to the west, with depths of 3 to 20 metres over a seabed of sand and rock. There is a shingle beach at the head of the bay, and a platform for taking on water.

Anchoring is prohibited, so you must use the mooring buoys and register through the DERIA system. There is no VHF channel listed for the anchorage itself; nearby marinas in Gocek monitor VHF 73. The nearest town is Fethiye, about 55 kilometres away by road, and the bay is reachable from the Gocek and Dalaman direction.
