Full Description & Details
Gerence (Armonika) Koyu is a cove indenting westward on the south side of Gerence Burnu, near Datca in Mugla, Turkey. It is also known as Armonika. The bay is sheltered from all weather except northeasterly and easterly winds, and is open to NE and SE conditions.
The shores are densely wooded with pine trees except for the northern part. The sea is very clean and there are no settlements around it. It is a place to wait before sailing west towards Kormen and Knidos.
How to get there
The cove lies just below Gerence Burnu, west of Buyuk Catı and 4 NM east of Kuzgun Burnu. A rock awash is visible about 300 meters offshore in the eastern part of the bay; give it a wide berth. Anchor in 5-8 meters in the western recess, where the meltemi wind comes straight off the shore, and go stern-to.
The bottom shoals slowly, so be ready with long shore lines. An alternative is to go stern-to the rocks on the northern shore of the same recess. There are no facilities.
