Full Description & Details

Doganlar Koyu is a quiet cut in the Marmara coast, part of the Kapıdag shoreline near the village of Doganlar in Erdek district, Balıkesir Province. The bay has a simple shoreline with mixed bottom patches for anchoring. The nearest hamlet keeps a working feel, with a small jetty and a few provisions within reach. A short walk leads to low hills and viewpoints over the Marmara Sea, especially at sunset. In summer, local seafood grills and tea gardens line the water.

The anchorage is protected by a fishing harbour with a main breakwater. The harbour has a capacity of about 20 boats. Facilities include electricity, drinking water, and a net repairing area. The harbour is administered by the Doganlar Fishery Products Cooperative. Holding is over mixed patches, so check the bottom when setting your anchor.

Village facilities include shops, markets, stores, pensions for accommodation, and restaurants, cafes, and tea gardens. There is a post office, phone, and Wi-Fi, plus a health center and a hair dresser. Natural sandy beaches are nearby. Fish restaurants along the waterfront are known for their seasonal fish and cooking.

Doganlar Koyu is a working fishing harbour rather than a full-service marina. The village is about 22 kilometres from Erdek town centre. The bay is listed as a barınma yeri (shelter place) under the Turkish fisheries infrastructure. Best visited in summer when the seafood grills and tea gardens are open along the waterline.
